Mr Snyders is Group Chief Financial Officer and an Executive Director of Growthpoint South Africa, a South African listed real estate investment trust and Growthpoint’s majority securityholder. He is a Chartered Accountant with more than 22 years of experience across financial services, investment banking and listed real estate. Before joining Growthpoint South Africa, he was Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Two Degrees Limited, having previously served as its Commercial Director and Financial Director. Mr Snyders replaces Mr Norbert Sasse, who will retire from the Board at the conclusion of Growthpoint’s 2026 Annual General Meeting to be held on 11 November 2026. Andrew Fay, Chair of Growthpoint’s Board, said: “I am pleased to welcome José to the Board. His blend of strategic, operational and capital markets expertise, along with his extensive experience in listed real estate, will be a valuable addition to the Board. He has more than 22 years of experience spanning financial services, investment banking and listed real estate. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Town and two honours degrees, specialising in financial analysis and portfolio management, and in financial accounting. Before joining Growthpoint Properties Limited in January 2026, José was the Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Two Degrees Limited, a former JSE-listed South African real estate investment trust. He previously served as both Commercial Director and Financial Director of Liberty Two Degrees which he joined in 2017. Prior to this, José had a long standing investment banking career at Rand Merchant Bank. José brings to the Board skills in strategic financial leadership, capital markets, investment analysis, portfolio management and risk management. Other directorships and positions José is Group Chief Financial Officer and an Executive Director of the JSE-listed Growthpoint Properties Limited, a member of its Executive Committee and a Director of V&A Waterfront Holdings.
